What HPD Alternators Can Do for You

  • Now you can power much larger inverters, up to 4,000 watts. You’ll have more power available to run vehicle-mounted equipment

  • HPD alternators produce their rated power at engine idle. This saves money on fuel and engine maintenance

  • Recharge battery packs fast

  • DC power for lighting, winches, cranes, and more

  • PowerGain HPD Alternators are ideal for high DC current requirements: Powered aerial lifts with basket heaters, hybrid systems, pipe fusion, etc.

  • No More Generator Sets!

    • Enhanced vehicle mobility

    • Increased GVW capacity

    • More deck space

    • Less cost

About PowerGain LLC

PowerGain LLC is a venture between Indiana-based manufacturer, Superior Precision, Inc. (SPI)/ /and Colorado-based Magnetic Applications, Inc. (MagApps.) PowerGain is introducing a series of high output alternators that provide a proprietary and unique solution for the power needs in the utility equipment market. These alternators allow a vehicle to generate electric power at a level and efficiency previously unattainable.

PowerGain has been licensed by Magnetic Applications, Inc. to serve markets including the Utility Industry. The on-site electrical power required during the installation and maintenance of utilities’ infrastructure is tremendous. Crews in the electrical, natural gas, telecom, broadband, water and sewer industries rely heavily on electric tools and equipment. The electrical needs of the on-site work crews are demanding and PowerGain provides a practical and powerful solution for utility equipment vehicles.

This electrical generation technology, developed by MapApps, has been applied to belt-driven alternators. These high power density alternators are amazingly efficient and capable of unrivaled electrical generation while the vehicle’s engine remains at idle. PowerGain alternators can produce up to five times the power output of conventional vehicle alternators. They generate up to double the power of competing high output alternators that require more space under the hood and higher rpm.

SPI currently serves the utility equipment industry providing machined-parts to heavy truck, aerial lift and hydraulic industries. These products include hydraulic and pneumatic valves, blocks, pistons, heads, hydro-electric controls and completed assemblies. SPI’s long-established relationships in the industry gives PowerGain a capable distribution network for product introduction and installation. With an established customer base of electrical distributors, fleet customers, and original equipment manufacturers, PowerGain is well positioned to serve the Utility Industry.
